What is Colon Hydrotherapy?
Colon hydrotherapy is gentle purified water
washing of the large intestine. The client lies on an exam table
and with a machine: water is run very slowly into the colon. When
slight pressure builds up in the colon, the water is released.
As the water is flowing out through an illuminated glass viewing
tube, the abdominal area is thoroughly massaged. This process
is repeated during the treatment. In one session approximately
two to six liters flow into and out of the large intestines. To
insure maximum sanitation, a disposable water and waste line and
speculum are used.
Colonic hydrotherapy flushes unwanted by-products of digestion from the colon.
This flushing requires about 45 minutes and more than a dozen gallons of water.
The colonic hydro-therapist also stimulates various pressure points to help the water work its way through the intestines and colon. Such massaging actions encourage increased movement of the intestinal muscles to help the colon rid itself of accumulated and hardened waste matter.
 Hydrotherapy, unlike an enema, can be performed repeatedly over a relatively short period of time. Colonic hydrotherapy, unlike a laxative, uses physical manipulation in the form of moving water to get the bowels flushed. These features demonstrate why hydrotherapy can be enjoyed by the majority of people now dealing with the consequences of possessing a dirty colon.
